Darren Shan ebook giveaway

Darren Shan is giving away the first e-book in his major new fantasy saga, Archibald Lox, months ahead of schedule to give fans around the world some escape in the midst of lockdown.

Shan, known for his globally successful series The Saga of Darren Shan, The Demonata and Zom-B, has brought forward publication of the first volume with an early -and free - ebook release months ahead of schedule.

The Archibald Lox series will appeal to younger Shan fans as well as YA and adult readers who have enjoyed Shan's previous novels. The three books that have just been released make up Volume One and are designed to be read in quick succession as a trilogy.

The Archibald Lox series introduces readers to a young boy who discovers he is a powerful locksmith and uses his powers to cross worlds into a strange universe known as the Merge, a place full of wonder but also of grave danger. As Archie is figuring out how it works, he finds himself in the middle of a perilous mission, and if he fails, millions of people are going to suffer the consequences.

Shan promises a world entirely alien to - yet intertwined with - our own, one in which everything is weird yet familiar, and where adventure and unexpected twists are always lurking just around the corner. Fans will recognise Shan's trademark world-building and characterisation, and also find echoes of the books that have influenced Darren over the years, including C. S. Lewis, Diana Wynne Jones and Neil Gaiman.

The ebooks are now available worldwide:

1) Archibald Lox and the Bridge Between Worlds - FREE download

2) Archibald Lox and the Empress of Suanpan, £1.50

3) Archibald Lox and the Vote of Alignment, £2.50

Print editions are due to be released when the market returns to normal, and the Volume Two books - with a further three books - are set to be published in 2021.

Darren Shan is a globally bestselling author whose breakthrough came with the publication of Cirque Du Freak in January 2000. He has published more than 50 books, including the 10-book Demonata series and 12-book Zom-B series.

Cirque Du Freak was adapted into a globally translated Japanese manga and a major Hollywood movie, while it was recently announced that the Electric Shadow Company and Fantastic Films have teamed up to adapt his Zom-B series for television.
